White Memorial Medical Center (WMMC) is a 353-bed teaching hospital in Boyle Heights, California, serving Los Angeles County. The medical center's key services include advanced diagnostic imaging with cardiac imaging capabilities, behavioral medicine, cancer care, cleft palate program, diabetes care and treatment, Level III emergency services (EDAP facility), gastroenterology, inpatient and outpatient
surgical services, heart, vascular and stroke care (including an accredited STEMI Receiving Center, an Advanced Certification Primary Stroke Center and a state-of-the art arrhythmia treatment center), orthopedic care, Level III neonatal intensive care, rehabilitation, skilled nursing facility, women’s and children’s services.
As a teaching hospital, the medical center offers medical residencies in family medicine, internal medicine, OB/GYN, pediatrics and podiatry.
WMMC ranked one of the top 32 best hospitals in the Los Angeles metropolitan area, was designated as the top Family Medicine Residency Program in the State of California and launched the start of its 100th anniversary celebration.
In 2012, WMMC had 21,169 admissions, 3,911 deliveries, 51,031 ED visits and 67,826 outpatient visits. The medical center is staffed by more than 550 physicians, 68 medical residents, 2,015 employees and 179 volunteers. Also in 2012, WMMC contributed over $33 million in free and low-cost services to the community.
