Adventist Health's Physician Services team is assisting an established single-specialty group practice that is seeking an associate in Bakersfield. The group currently consists of three Orthopaedists and is seeking a fourth member with specialty training in hand, trauma (fracture care) or to work as a general orthopaedists. This well-regarded group of physicians treat a high number of patients and have a good payor mix. Call is shared and traded on the weekends as each physician handles call on their own patients during the week. This outstanding opportunity comes with a competitive compensation package that includes relocation assistance and health/dental, malpractice, 401k benefits, etc.

Candidates must be BE/BC, be California licensed or eligible and meet the hospital's medical staff credentialing standards.

San Joaquin Community Hospital

San Joaquin Community Hospital (SJCH) is a 254-bed acute-care facility serving the city of Bakersfield and outlying communities of Kern County. Key services include cancer care, cardiology, diabetes and wellness education, 24-hour emergency services, home health, imaging, inpatient and outpatient burn care, maternity, mobile children’s immunizations, neurology, orthopedics, stroke treatment, surgical weight loss and Adventist Health Physicians Network clinics.

The 60,000 square foot, 4-story AIS Cancer Center and Outpatient Surgery Center were recently opened. Affiliated with University of California Davis, this new center will provide comprehensive cancer and surgery care to the community. In addition, SJCH earned full accreditation for The Chest Pain Center and received the highest honor for stroke care from the American Stroke Association.

In 2012, SJCH had 19,658 admissions, 2,802 deliveries, 70,344 ED visits, 79,685 outpatient visits and 17,139 home health visits. The hospital is staffed by 520 affiliated physicians, 2,066 employees and 280 volunteers. Also in 2012, the hospital contributed over $22.2 million in free and low-cost services to the community.
